Having everything you own fit nicely into three plastic bins and two L.L bean duffel bags is seriously depressing.
For all the good that being in care a good portion of my life has done for me in the long run, sometimes I feel like there are some serious shortcomings.
I'll be posting more after Friday I'm sure.
Wish me luck.

P.s - I was less scared moving across the planet then I am of moving 30 miles away into my dorm.

You'll be fine. :)
(I know, not very comforting words, but I know you'll be fine.)
I remember my first day of college. I was terrified because I was at a school 3 hours from home, knew nobody and didn't even know the school. I loved it once we pulled into the campus.
Just think of all the new guys to meet and things to do. Besides Auntie's friends are only a shout away!
i think it's really cool that you aren't carrying a bunch of junk around with you (and to school), even though your first choice might have been to have a lot of stuff.
so many people struggle with clutter, or with being defined by what they have...you're in a great position not to have things weigh you down. (your move-in will be quick, and when you clean stuff, it won't take forever). you'll be off experiencing life instead of messing around with excess baggage.
if you can keep things simple, and only collect those things that you love, or are useful you'll be way ahead of the curve...
good luck! college can be a great time!
Good luck sweetie -- but you won't need it.
By the way, you left that souvenir hat that plays the Scottish melody in the bathroom.
Love ya!
It's a big step, but remember, you're in the same boat with a lot of other people who are also nervous and uncertain. Somehow, most people survive and grow in this setting, and you will, too.
